Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu [1,300 m/4,264 ft]

Upon your arrival in the international airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative of Bharal Adventure who will escort you to your hotel where you can rest for a while. Later in the afternoon, we can go on a tour to Kathmandu Durbar Square which is also one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. Moreover, leisure stroll around the streets of Thamel could also be taken where you could shop for souvenir to take back home on your return. A welcome dinner will be hosted in the evening to make you familiar with the savory taste of Nepali cuisine.

Day 2 : Visit World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu and drive to Nagarkot

Just after having our breakfast, we will begin the sightseeing of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa are four of these sites. Kathmandu Durbar Square is an excellent example of Nepalese art and architecture while Pashupatinath, situation on the banks of river Bagmati, is one of the most famous temples of Lord Shiva. Swayambhunath, meaning self-born, is a popular Buddhist shrine popular among the tourists as The Monkey Temple because of the large population of monkey in the area. Boudhanath stupa on the other hand is one of the largest stupas in South Asia build on the ancient trade route to Tibet. We shall then proceed on a drive to Nagarkot, a tiny village in the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley popular for its mountain views and breathtaking views of sunrise and sunset. We stay overnight in Nagarkot after witnessing the most peaceful sunset amidst the Himalayas.

Day 3 : Sunrise in Nagarkot, sightseeing in Patan and Bhaktapur

After enjoying the breathtaking sunrise amidst the Himalayas from the high tower of Nagarkot, we have a pleasant breakfast and head into the drive to the city square of Bhaktapur, an irresistible city with the taste of authentic local lifestyle and rich Newari culture and traditions. We indulge in the admiration of the excellent architecture of Nyata-Pola Temple, the Golden Gate, the 55 Window Palace and Dattatreya Temple along with water spout and other traditional buildings and houses. We immerse ourselves in the savory taste of the authentic Newari delicacies in the local restaurants in Bhaktapur. After having belly full of stomach, we will head to Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which serves as an outstanding illustration of ancient medieval art and architecture and affluent wooden Newari art existent since the Malla Era. In the evening, a farewell dinner will be organized where you can have the final taste of Nepali food before your next vacation in Nepal.

Day 4 : Final departure

On our last day in Nepal, if we have time, we go for last minute souvenir shopping in Thamel after breakfast. We can exchange emails and photos before being accompanied to Tribhuvan International Airport by a representative of Bharal Adventure approximately three hours before your scheduled flight. As we bid farewell to each other, we can keep in touch with emails and plan for your next vacation in Nepal with assistance of Bharal Adventure.
